One day Jesus' disciples said to Jesus, 'Lord, teach us to pray: Luke 11.11 Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done, in earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen. Prayer is just speaking to God. And yet there is no just' about it we pray not on our own, but in the name of Jesus Christ and in the power of the Holy Spirit. We also pray alongside Christians throughout the ages and around the world. Such prayer acknowledges the just and gentle rule of God over every situation, and is used by God to bring his love to the world.
