Archdiocese of Bhopal
celebrated the symbolic love and universal brotherhood and Independence Day
with the students of different schools in the city on Wednesday at St. Xavier’s
Co-ed School, Auditorium, BHEL, Bhopal.
Speaking on the occasion
of Rakshabandhan Archbishop Leo Cornelio asked the students to change the
mindsets of gender disparity and collaborate with each other as sisters and
brothers of own family to bring all round development of our country. Extending
Independence Day greetings to the people of the state Archbishop said that - Equality
and Justice are the foundation of our constitution which should be safeguarded
by educating our parents and neighbours to overcome violence and atrocities
against girl child. We are proud to come out of the clutches of British rulers
but still we have no freedom to live in fraternity due to our mindset, he
added.
The brightness of the day
can be experienced when we look at each other’s that he or she is my brother and
sister, till then we remain in darkness, he reminded.
On this auspicious
occasion Fr. Maria Stephen, the PRO of MP Catholic Church, extended
Independence Day greetings to all the citizens of the country and reminded the
people to uphold the rich culture of Universal Brotherhood and sacrifice to promote civilisation of love
and tolerance.
The students from St.
Montfort School, Anand Nagar, St. Theresa’s Girls School, Piplani, St. Joseph’s
Co-Ed School, Arera Colony, St. Xavier’s School, Barkhera, teachers and PR Office team members were
present for the celebration.
