The mission of Archdiocese`Prison Ministry' is to share the transforming love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ to impact the hearts and Lives of incarcerated men, women and youth, as well as their families, to become loving and productive citizens of their communities. There are ample numbers of cases, where Archdiocese extended help to prisoners with monetary and moral support to come out of trauma and settle in peaceful normalcy
The Lord Jesus asked us not to condemn the people because they do not know what they are doing. The People in the jail are our brothers and sisters. We need to love them and accept them as they are so that they may bring qualities change in their life.
Prison Ministry arranges time to time seminar, literacy classes, workshops, medical camps etc. in different jails. Arrangements are also made to celebrate festivals like Diwali, holi, Raksha bandan, Christmas, Women's day celebration etc. besidesarranging competitions like Mehendi , Rangoli, solo song, reading & writing, etc. to engage their feelings and to inspire them. Jail authority also has a big contribution by allowing social workers to mingle with the prisoners and needy ones.
