Archdiocese of Bhopal organized Inter-Religious Prayer for India
On the occasion of the
Birthday of Mahatma Gandhi an Inter-Religious Prayer Service was held on
Sunday, 2 Oct. 2016 at BSSS College auditorium, Bhopal for the peace and
prosperity of India. The prayer service began at 6.30 pm with lighting of the
lamp around the picture of Mahatma Gandhi by different religious leaders. Fr.
Jose Prakash the Director of Inter-religious dialogue welcomed Qaji Md. Haroon
Ji, Sardar Gyani Dilip Singh ji, Bhante Sagar Shakya Putra ji, Acharya Krishna
Kumar Dubey and Fr. Mathew V.C. the Vicar General of the Archdiocese with
bouquet.
The religious leaders
in their address stressed the need of peace for the existence of the human
beings in the world. They condemned in one voice the different forms of
terrorism trying to destroy the peace in the world particularly in India.
Freedom is not doing all that we like but doing everything with responsibility
to prevail peace in the world. They ask the people to live the life of
simplicity that others may simply live. Many prayers and petitions were offered
to the lord for peace and development of our country.
Mr. James Stephen, led
the choir with melodious devotional hymns and bhajans and Holy Family Church
members and ICYM youth helped in organizing this inter-religious prayer service
a successful one. There were large number of people including many Fathers,
Sisters and Pastors present for the program.
Fr. Maria Stephen the
P.R.O. thanked all the religious leaders, volunteers and organizers to make the
inter-religious prayer service an enlighten one and ignited the people to
follow the footsteps of Mahatma Gandhi to protect the diversity of rich
cultural heritage of India with the weapon of non- violence and zero tolerance
as a sign of Merciful Father in the Year of Mercy.
