Archdiocese of Bhopal paid tribute to Late Fr.Thomas Atummel and organised a Prayer Service at Pastoral Centre on 31 July 2017.

Fr. Thomas Paul Attummel age 62 and four CMC sisters from Bina province were returning from Guna Dourana after attending the feast of St. Martha on 29^th July 2017 met, with an accident and he was found dead on the spot. The car in which he was travelling collided with a parked tractor trolley and turned upside down. A speeding Bolero Car coming from the opposite side also dashed against it made the accident unredeemable. Fr. Attummel was found sitting in the front near the driver seat during the accident, suffered serious head injuries along with other four sisters were taken to the hospital for an immediate medical care. 

It should be noted that Fr. Thomas Attummel served as the Secretary of M.P. Regional Commission from Bhopal diocese in the year 2012 to 2016. He has not only served the M.P. Region but also Bhopal Archdiocese in particular as he was out going to fulfil the spiritual needs of the Parishes whenever he was invited. His last assignment was to Ashok Nagar, as a Parish Priest of St. Thomas Church, and Manager of St. Thomas Sr. Sec. School.

Archdiocese of Bhopal is indebted to him for his selfless service to the faithful of the Archdiocese.
