NANNHE PRERIT SANGH: A SEMINAR FOR THE ANIMATORS

A seminar was conducted for the animators of the Holy Childhood Association commonly known as ‘Nannhe Prerit Sangh’ in the Archdiocese of Bhopal at Pastoral Centre on 24th July 2016. The animators from different parishes of the city participated in it namely – St. Francis of Assisi Cathedral Church, Holy Family Church, Our Lady of Assumption Church, Queen of the Universe Church, Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Infant Jesus Church, Christ the King Church, Sacred Heart Church and St. Edmund Campion Church. The Vicar General Rev. Fr. Mathew VC presided over the seminar and inaugurated the session. The resource person for the day was Rev. Fr. Sumit (Youth director) from Indore diocese along with his youth – Victor and Divya.

The seminar was aimed at igniting the minds of the animators towards encouraging the young children from their parishes to be firm in their faith, to grow in faith and to share this faith with other children. The session began by exalting the Lord with a hymn. Rev. Fr. Mathew motivated the animators to be lively and effective towards the nannhe prerits. He highlighted the importance of faith formation at an early stage is the very purpose of having this Nannhe Prerit in the Archdiocese of Bhopal. Rev. Fr. Sumit, the resource person of the day, from Indore diocese, began the session with an introduction of Holy Childhood Association; and how it works in different countries, helping the churches to make Jesus known to the children. The session also dealt with how to develop faith formation in the young children through many interesting group activities and games.

Thereafter Victor gave insights on faith formation and shared his personal experiences. He threw some light on the psychology of the children in which he stressed the need for proper guidance and right motivation for the graceful growth of our children. 

Divya took up the next session and shared how she was drawn towards the church activity which has helped her in gaining confidence. She stressed the importance of the animators as role models for children. She captured everyone’s attention by her breath taking sharing and challenged the animators to take up a crucial role in the faith formation of our children.

There were number of activities initiated such as, action songs, planning sessions etc in which all the animators participated whole heartedly. In the planning session the animators chalked out the activities to be held for the young nannhe prerits in their respective parishes with the permission of the parish priests. The participants were happy and felt enriched by the session. It was a successful venture in getting the animators to plan and to work together for this noble cause. The session concluded with the vote of thanks to the resource person, the organizers and the Vicar General of the diocese.
