Bhopal Archdiocese of Catholics Christians visited the
cemeteries and remembered fondly their departed near and dear ones.
As on every year 2 November is devoted to the departed
souls to remember them and pray for them. Fr Maria Stephen the PRO said to the
reporters that due to corona pandemic there was no celebration of the day with
solemn holy Mass in the Cemeteries both in Bairagarh and Bhadbada, Bhopal.
Instead there was holy mass in different parishes for the departed souls. As
per the canon law a priest is permitted to celebrate three masses for the
intention of the Church and for the departed faithful to obtain eternal peace
and salvation
Large number of people visited their respective
churches and cemeteries maintaining social distances and wearing masks. Hundreds
went to cemeteries to decorate their relative graves and paid homage to the
departed souls. Many priests took the rotation to bless the graves besides many
youth volunteers helped smooth going.
The people went
in hundred to the cemeteries by wearing masks, sanitized their hands and
maintained social distances. Archbishop Leo Cornelio Svd and many fathers and sisters
visited the cemeteries.
Special thanks to Fr Mathew VC, Fr Anil CMI, Fr
Suresh, the youth and public Relations office members for supervising the
overall arrangements. Fr Maria Stephen thanked the government for giving
security arrangements.
