Archdiocese of Bhopal pays tribute to DPS, students Indore
Archdiocese
of Bhopal paid its tribute on Tuesday 9 Jan. 2018 at Pastoral Centre, Arera Colony, Bhopal to
the students of DPS School, Indore who died in a road accident.
Archbishop of Bhopal Most Rev. Leo Cornelio in
his condolence message said – as the technology grows faster, the value of
human life is going down. We cannot compromise the worth of human lives with
negligence of human being. We can easily bring a halt to the sufferings of the
human beings when we worship our duty with reverence and conscious. The
innocent children lost their lives just because carelessness of the drivers
from both the directions, he added. He asked the people to grow with duty
filled divinity to spread the fragrance of peace and love. He prayed for the
innocent children for their Eternal Rest besides extending his deep heartfelt
sympathy to all the parents of the victims.
The prayer
service started with a ‘ Bhajan’ to provoke the spirit of solidarity with the
victims of the incident that took place on the Bichouli Hapsi over bridge on
the Kanadiya by pass at 4 pm on 5th Jan 2018. Four students and a
bus driver of Delhi Public School (DPS) Indore, were killed and nine people,
including eight students and a bus conductor, sustained serious injuries after
their bus collided head-on with a truck in Indore.

Stephen, the PRO of the Archdiocese expressed his deep sympathy to the parents
and asked the educational institutions to take care of the security of the
children in all the way possible both inside and outside, as they are the image
of God’s presence. He requested the
schools authorities to give proper motivational training to the teaching and
non teaching staff, to bring the value of human lives to their consciousness,
which may enhance the quality of their service with a sense of belongingness.
The prayer
service lasted for an hour, with the expression of different views by the
people present. Fr. Shaji E. thanked all
the members present besides giving an introduction to the event.
