Three days Retreat and Prayer began for the Catholics on 6 Oct. and
ended 8 Oct. 2019 at Assumption Church,
Arera Colony. It was an annual retreat for all the Catholics of Archdiocese of
Bhopal to renew themselves in order to grow in spiritual maturity.
Most
Rev. Leo Cornelio SVD, the Archbishop of Bhopal inaugurated the retreat with
con-celebrated Holy Mass. He asked the people to make use of this golden
opportunity to bring down God’s abundant blessings in the life of individuals,
society and in the diocese to renew the commitment we made during our Baptism.
Fr. Denny VC and team led the people to know oneself, others and God, sacraments, spirituality and sins to revive the bond of healthy relationship with one another. The main theme of the retreat was to renew the life of Christians to be rooted in the love of Christ. The preacher asked the people to leave the life of sinfulness to come closer to God to receive the eternal reward. We are created in His image to fulfill the Lord's mission to include all the neighbors in the boundary wall of love, he added.
The main attraction of the retreat was praise and worship, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, confession and solemn Holy Mass.
Three days retreat for the laity was concluded with anointing the people on 8 October at Assumption Church, Bhopal. Archbishop Leo Cornelio appreciated the people coming together in large number to pray and to listen the Word of God. He asked the people not to look for favours for becoming Christians but ready to suffer for Christ as Jesus emptied himself to die for the salvation of the people. Fr Mathew VC thanked the people behind the success of the retreat specially Fr Denny VC, Fr. Joby VC and his team and the members of the organizing team.
Three
days retreat was well attended nearly by 2000 people came from different
parts of the diocese besides large number of sisters and fathers.
Finally all went back home with a commitment to love one another and to
promote the joy of being loved.
