The commission for Inter-Religious Dialogue and Ecumenism of the
Archdiocese, Bhopal organized Sadbhavana Rally cum Inter-Religious Meet on 2nd
October at Ashaniketan campus, E-6, Arera Colony, Bhopal in view of 153rd birth
anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
Archbishop A.A.S. Durairaj said
in his address “Mahatma Gandhi, always applied truth, non-violence, mutual
respect and sacrifice to solve many national problems. He was a firm believer
in social integration and spirituality
of non cooperation he said. The Archbishop asked the people to follow the
teachings of Mahatma Gandhi to ensure a peaceful world."
Sardar P. Singh said&“We are all born from one God, so we need to
realise that we are all members of the same family to maintain peace and
harmony in the world.
Amil Saheb Shaikh Zohair Shakir the head of the Dawoodi Bohra
community, said - When it is possible to
come together as one family then it will be possible to spread the divine light
of unity in diversity to abolish darkness in society forever.
Fr. Maria Stephen, the PRO said “It is the need of the hour for all to
come together to work the peace and
harmony.
The Peace Rally began with a short motivational talk by Pastor Keshab
Pradhan and a prayer by Fr. Augustin
PA at 3.30 pm at Assumption Church campus and ended at St.
Joseph Co-Ed auditorium at 4 pm followed by Inter&Religious Meet. Fr Alfred
D'Suza, the Assistant PRO, welcomed the audience and Mr Sudhir Sharma, the coordinator thanked all
the invited Guests and the volunteers. Dr Jaya Peter was anchoring the
program. Large number of people
including religious participated in the rally.
